The Offering - Daily painting 11/30

I had planned on writing all about this painting and my day of painting but now that I've gotten to the point of writing for my blog, I'm seeing double and ready for bed! So here is one of my creations today called The Offering. I explained a little more about the process for this painting in my description on Etsy.

Whoa. I just watched a horro movie before coming here. This painting looked real scary at first, then somehow angelic and finally it looked like a statue. It is kind of ghastly in my opinion. But in a good way. Pure white for hope and warm halo in the dark world.

Then I read what it was all about (at Etsy) and now I feel a bit dumb. :D

What a great holiday image, Jessica! What "presence"

I like the ghostly image. It made me stop and think a moment.

I wanted to let you know that my SIL and I watched The Secret last night and it certainly was food for thought.

I'm going to practice visualizing positive things and see what happens. And, this morning before I did anything, I mentally went over the people and things in my life that I'm thankful for. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks to everyone for commenting on this piece - it is a little out of the norm for me, so all opinions are welcome (interpretations too)! That's great that you saw The Secret, Cynthia. That particular step of waking up feeling thankful is the one that's influenced me right away. It DOES make such a difference in the way the rest of the day carries itself out. I'm also working on some of the other ideas and seeing/feeling results. :) Thankful for you all, Jessica
