I just can't say enough about how much I love your work! Really, I can't put it into words, it just grabs me with the color, shapes, and textures. I would have a very difficult time picking a favorite!
Jes, this is just gorgeous. I love the effect of pastels on canvas. That is why "Linear Street" is one of my personal favs of my own work. So did you just do the underpainting and then go over it with the pastels horizontally? I love this. Seriously.
Thanks to you all for dropping by and sharing such kind compliments! Meghan, yes I began with an underpainting in acrylic and layered over it with oil pastels. I've tried painting acrylics over oil pastels and the oil always bleeds through, no matter how many layers of paint I apply, so once I start going with the pastels there's no turning back!

The layering here really works. Very subtle.
You are doing such beautiful work with the oil pastels. "We Grow Together" is my favorite, I think!
