Oooh, I really like the colors in this one. Have you ever posted any progression pics? I mean I know sometimes you'll post "in the process" paintings, but I'd love to see how you start out and how your work evolves.

Nerdy much?

When I look at this painting, I see an old woman with her dog getting ready to take a walk outside on a sunny day. Truly a moment of peace. Nice!

This one is a dripping water tap to me. Plop plop plop. So strange.
Usually I get more sounds from your more landscape-like paintings.

I admire your restraint in paintings like this! They seem so determined, somehow, like they HAVE the perfect layout / balance and no one can question it.

Hi Sarah - I documented the various stages of my oversized painting Everything But (search my blog for "oversized canvas" to see the posts). You'll see my process is all over the place! I guess you could say I just keep playing with paint until something clicks and the real beginning of the painting starts.

Kim and Maria - oh how I love to read viewers' interpretations of my abstracts!

and Maria your last line is so accurate - you put into words something I feel when I working on these.

:-O

really?!! Well, it certainly comes across really well!

There it is again: the plop sound. plop plop plop when I look at it.
When I buy some of your art I will have to think carefully about what sound I'd like to hear all the time!

I don't think I really expressed myself right in my last post. I guess I mean I'm determined to make them make sense and I don't stop until that moment when it feels like everything checks out. Unlike some of my more raw paintings where control and restraint have almost nothing to do with it. But I'm not thinking "arg these are perfect and no man may doubt them!" hahahaha :)

no I didn't mean it like that :D

You know when to stop, I think, and your paintings look just right.
