Works in progress

I worked on a new batch of paintings today. One (not seen here) is finished and another is very close. I should be able to photograph them tomorrow if the light is right.

This photo is a beautifully inspirational still life all on its own. I'll have to look at it to get my own motivation back up to where it needs to be. Love this collection of coordinated abstraction! :-)

Thanks for posting this inspirational photo. I agree with CountryDreaming that I get my own motivation back looking at it, and that's what I need right now...

WOW, very interesting!! Do you usually work on many paintings at once or is it when you have an idea for a series?

So happy to have contributed to any bit of inspiration! Maria, often when I'm really pumped up I'll bounce from canvas to canvas laying down layers of color. It's more about keeping the groove going rather than working in series per se, but often series will emerge out of painting days like this. Other days (like today) I'm in a bit of a more mellow mood and like to focus on and fine tune one or two paintings. It goes in cycles, I guess. :)

Maybe it's the magic thing, that special kind of flow...
