Song For Spring
Here's a new painting from the batch of four 8" x 10" canvases I was working on in the video series (see last post) called Song For Spring. The videos shot on my Mac are in reverse - anyone know how to flip them?
Also, I'd like to continue making these videos and if you have any questions for me I'd love to answer them as I gab while I paint. It could be about anything - art, life or otherwise. If you have a website I can mention it when answering your question (a little free advertising never hurt anybody). Thanks!

Collective Support

Acrylic on 18" x 24" gallery wrapped canvas, 2009

I actually painted this a few months ago but it took me this long to sit with it and feel right about calling it done. Sometimes when a painting comes about rather quickly I can doubt myself and the piece . "That's it? Really?".
But I like it as it is, so "as it is" is how it shall remain.

New Series

My computer is back and healthy! During my time away, I painted this new series called Connected. I have a huge stack of postcards left over from the Art 4 People show that I gesso primed and painted over. Six in the series are available in my Etsy shop at www.livefunky.etsy.com. The rest are on www.ebay.com - you can find them by searching "Torrant".

Two new paintings
View From Above - Acrylic and oil pastel on 12 x 12 box canvas.
Over Yonder - Acrylic and oil pastel on 12 x 12 canvas panel.I'm enjoying working really free - fast and loose. There's a bit of a landscape quality to these two paintings. The first piece is titled View From Above because it reminded me of looking down on the California coast from a plane. Both pieces are now available at www.livefunky.etsy.com.

Circles On All Sides IV by Jessica TorrantAcrylic on 6" x 6" box canvas
Available at www.livefunky.etsy.com
I've been enjoying working on a batch of new box canvases. Instead of painting the sides black, I've been experimenting with extending the painting onto the edges. You can see all of my new works in my Etsy Store.
